Building Energy Modeling Professional certification imageASHRAE’s Building Energy Modeling Professional certification program was developed in collaboration with the U.S. affiliate of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA-USA) and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA).  The purpose of this program is to certify individuals’ ability to evaluate, choose, use, calibrate, and interpret the results of energy modeling software when applied to building and systems energy performance and economics and to certify individuals’ competence to model new and existing buildings and systems with their full range of physics.

The program launched January 27, 2010 with a pencil and paper examination in conjunction with ASHRAE’s Winter Conference and AHR Expo in Orlando, FL.

The BEMP certification examination is now available at testing centers located throughout the United States and worldwide.
