The Laboratory of Building Physics of the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven, Belgium, is organizing a symposium on recent developments in Building Physics in honour of Professor Hugo Hens. The objective of the conference is to provide researchers and PhD students a forum to share and discuss the most recent and significant developments in building physics. Hugo Hens has completed his engineering studies in 1968 at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). After working for 4 years as a building construction engineer, he became full time researcher at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Department of Physics. In 1975, he obtained his Phd in building physics. From 1976 to 1981, he was assistant-professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in charge of the lectures in building physics and building construction and he founded the Laboratory of Building Physics in 1978. Since 1981, he is a full professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, responsible for the lectures in building physics, applied building physics (performance approach) and building HVAC services and head of the Laboratory of Building Physics. His research and consulting activities are mainly dealing with the energy and performance analysis of building elements and of integral buildings. He is internationally renowned as a leading authority in building physics. He is also ASHRAE Fellow. Papers are invited on the following topics:
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed. Papers and presentations are in English. Format for abstracts and papers is posted on the conference website (http://www.kuleuven.be/bwf/projects/BPS2008/index.htm). Important dates
