Members Encouraged to Share Thoughts
on Society During Open Session at BOD Meeting

Members are encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions on the operation and work of the Society with the ASHRAE Board of Directors during an open session at ASHRAE’s 2009 Annual Conference, June 20-24 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The session will take place 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, at the Board of Directors meeting in the Grand Ballroom A, Suite Tower, 2nd level of the Galt House hotel. While Board meetings are always open to members, this is an opportunity to address the Board on any relevant issues of concern.

"ASHRAE’s volunteer leadership is elected by members to lead the Society on their behalf, “ said ASHRAE President Bill Harrison. “Open communication is critical as elected leaders set strategic goals and determine how to allocate ASHRAE resources to accomplish those goals. Through chapters and regions as well as standing and technical committees, there are numerous opportunities for members at all levels of the organization to engage in strategic decisions. A direct pipeline to the ASHRAE Board is vital to that process. I encourage all members wishing to do so to address the Board at the annual Meeting in Louisville.”

Speakers are limited to four minutes. Those who wish to speak must provide an outline of their comments to Claire Neme, administrative assistant, at cneme@ashrae.org, no later than noon on Monday, June 15.
