In a city with deep historical roots, ASHRAE will convene in San Antonio, Texas not just to remember the Alamo but also its own origins. As members work to shape tomorrow’s built environment today, one can’t help but notice the influences of the city’s past; a blend of Old Mexico, the Wild West and the Deep South. These eras—which conjure images of intense heat—remind us of ASHRAE’s significant role in the city’s past as well as its role in the future of sustainability.

Hotel

The Conference Headquarter hotel is the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, 600 E. Market Street. The Conference rate is $200, and reservations should be made by May 30 to ensure the group rate.

The overflow hotel is the LaQuinta Inns & Suites, 303 Blum, San Antonio. The rates are $147 (single/double), and reservations should be made by May 21 to ensure group rate. The hotel is .7 miles from the Grand Hyatt.

Plenary Keynote Speaker

Join ASHRAE in recognizing recipients of its honors and awards program at the Plenary Session on Saturday, June 23. Keynote speaker is Jason Ryan Dorsey is The Gen Y Guy®. You may have seen him on 60 Minutes, 20/20, The Today Show, The View, or in Fortune Magazine. His talent is teaching ready-to-use actions and creative strategies that quickly increase cross-generational performance.

Dorsey’s speech focuses Crossing the Generational Divide, explaining how, for the first time in world history, four different generations are working side by side—and a fifth generation is on the way! Each generation brings a different perspective, strengths, and priorities to the workplace. These differences can be a frustrating challenge (you leave a voicemail and they reply with a text!) or a strategic opportunity depending entirely how you respond.
