Homeland Security For Buildings Brochure

Print This Email This

Sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Presidential Ad Hoc Committee on Homeland Security with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation

Wednesday, April 14, 2004
Noon – 3 p.m. EDT

Terrorist attacks targeting the built environment are a critical and compelling issue to the nation, especially to building designers, owners and managers and first responders.

Multiple hazards and threats intersect within a building, and critical questions concerning the danger of chemical, biological or radiological (CBR) attacks remain. This broadcast will address questions of design, construction and operation of buildings. The primary goal is to address the key issues related to building protection from CBR incidents and draws heavily from ASHRAE’s most credible and timely reports and publications.

This free broadcast is intended to reach a cross-section of professionals, including engineers, architects, building owners and managers, fire, police, medical responders, public safety officers, risk managers and other key personnel.

DVDs will be produced and made available for sale and for use by ASHRAE chapters.

Information on downlink sites is available on ASHRAE.org.
