2007 ASHRAE Winter Meeting Jan. 27-31, 2007 
DALLAS – Join ASHRAE in Dallas for its 2007 Winter Meeting and the AHR Expo and get energized! The meeting takes place Jan. 27-31, 2007, at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, while the AHR Expo is held from Jan. 29-31 at the Dallas Convention Center.

These include a networking lounge open to registered members and spouses for coffee and conversation; the Members Night Out featuring a relaxed and fun way to celebrate the final night of the meeting; an Internet café with Internet access available in the lounge; more presentations in the technical session (program begins at 7:45 a.m. each day); and a keynote speaker at the Plenary Session.
Hotel Accommodations The headquarter hotel is the Adam's Mark Hotel Dallas, 400 North Olive Street, Dallas, Texas, 75201. Rates are $155 single/ $165 double. Online reservations will be available to ASHRAE members and conference attendees. Individuals requiring accommodations should check the Hotel Information Required button on the online form or ask for the link when you send in your meeting registration form. Reservations cannot be made by phone. The technical program, committee meetings and all social events are scheduled in the Adam’s Mark.
RegistrationSave money by taking advantage of the early bird pricing - register before Nov. 2 and save $25. Advance registration closes Dec. 15 and fees increase on site, so register early! What to WearAttire: Normal business attire is suggested for meetings. Casual is suggested for the Welcome Party and business casual for Members’ Night out, sport coats, sport shirts, tie optional. Schedule Sunday – Wednesday, Jan. 28-31 The Technical Program begins at 7:45 a.m. Sunday and concludes at noon, Wednesday. A new format allows for more topics and time for more discussion. The complete technical program will be posted on ASHRAE.org in September and published in ASHRAE Insights in October. AHR Exposition – Monday-Wednesday, Jan. 29-31 The 2007 AHR Expo will be held at the Dallas Convention Center. Since 1930, the AHR Expo has been the HVAC&R professional’s single best resource for new products, new ideas and new services. It showcases a spectrum of equipment, systems, and components. This unique industry forum, cosponsored by ASHRAE and the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), creates a dynamic marketing environment unequaled in size and scope by any other industry event. The Dallas Convention Center is a shuttle bus ride from the Adam’s Mark Hotel. Complimentary transportation will be provided the days of the exposition. Shuttle buses will be available for transportation to/from the Expo. As an alternative to the free shuttles between hotels and the convention center, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit System line provides service from many hotels to the convention center at $2.50 per day.

The tour includes a drive through Highland Park, built in the 1930s and one of the oldest suburban shopping centers in the United States, and a visit to Dealey Plaza, site of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Cost: $20
Fort Worth and PRCA Rodeo (Code 25) 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28 Visit the Will Rogers Coliseum Arena for the annual rodeo and livestock show. There will be time to try some Texas barbecue and see the exhibits before the rodeo kicks off. Cost: $52 Southfork Ranch Tour (Code 26) 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28 Visit the 41-acre homestead of the fictional Ewing family, one of Texas’ top visitor destinations. A tour of the inside Southfork Mansion tells the history of the original Southfork inhabitants and how this site became the setting for the weekly television series. Cost: $30 North Park Mall (Code 27) 2:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 As you make your way to your shopping adventure, you will drive through Highland Park and University. Then with a guest rewards booklet filled with discounts for various retailers and a map of the facility, you are on your own to shop ‘til you drop. Historical Grapevine (Code 30) 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 Take a trip into the past in Grapevine, Texas, one of the oldest towns in North Central. Visit the artisan center and work shop, which houses local artisans who practice arts and crafts that are more than 100 years old. The tour concludes at local winery featuring a tasting bar. Cost: $32 Stadium Tour (Code 31) 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Dallas Cowboy Stadium, have your picture made on the field making a touchdown pass or cheering on the Cowboys. Next stop is Ameriquest Field, home to the Texas Rangers, and the Legends of the Game Museum filled with baseball memorabilia. Ameriquest Field has a restaurant available for lunch. (UL) has opened a new 16,000 square foot state-of-the-art testing facility dedicated to energy efficiency testing of heat pumps, air conditioning equipment, and electrically-operated vapor compression refrigeration systems. The new energy efficiency test lab will help HVAC&R manufacturers in their efforts to develop more energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment. UL's HVAC&R energy efficiency testing facility is a full-service HVAC&R test laboratory offering integrated safety certification, prototype testing, benchmark testing, component compatibility evaluations and more. Cost: $15 Texas Instruments Fab-1 (Code 34) 1:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 Tour the first phase of this $3 billion semiconductor manufacturing facility, which features a dual temperature chilled water production plant, and heat recovery chillers to heat over half a million cfm of outside air.
