GUANGZHOU, China—At the China Refrigeration Expo, ASHRAE President Terry Townsend, P.E., led an ASHRAE delegation that called on engineers to address the global issues of building energy efficiency (right photo). Representatives of ASHRAE and the Chinese Association of Refrigeration met to discuss how the organizations can work together to expand ASHRAE membership in China (left photo). Currently, there are 134 ASHRAE members in China. The ASHRAE stand was among the busiest at China Refrigeration. More than 40,000 visitors attended the three-day event, April 4–6. There were 900 exhibitors. ASHRAE displayed Handbook volumes, new publications, and distributed membership literature and copies of ASHRAE Journal. The most popular item was the Refrigeration Handbook volume.
