President Kent Peterson visits the new Acropolis museum, at the area with the reconstruction of the Parthenon Frieze (Zoforos). He witnessed the ongoing transportation of monuments from the Acropolis to the museum, and toured the museum’s technical installations. The technical program on commissioning included five technical presentations. It was the first technical event of its kind in Greece. Peterson presented an overview of ASHRAE’s ongoing activities on sustainability, and opened the technical session with a presentation on “Building Systems Commissioning.” Other presentations were given by Oliver Baumann, Nikos Hazapis, George Prosgolitis and Vassilis Paraskevopoulos. Peterson visited the national Centre for Renewable Energy Systems, where he was briefed about the progress on the implementation of the European Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings, while he summarized ASHRAE’s work on conservation in buildings that can support the ongoing national efforts. | |
