Region I Connecticut Chapter hosted a luncheon meeting at the offices of Trane. ASHRAE President Kent Peterson was the speaker. Peterson discussed ASHRAE’s new programs to help transform the building market towards net-zero energy buildings and how designers can become experts in delivering high-performance buildings…Long Island Chapter sponsored a program on humidity and humidity control presented by Nick Cotumaccio, A.D.E. Systems. Region III Alan Longton, Filtration Group, presented a program on containment filter system for bio safety labs and isolation rooms at the Roanoke Chapter monthly meeting. Region VI Illinois Chapter presented a seminar on the healthcare facility environment. The seminar was split into three topics: airborne contamination control for isolation rooms, pharmacy design to meet USP 797 and operating room air curtain design. Aaron Stout, Brett Kelly and Dan Int-Hout were the speakers… Distinguished lecturer Victor Goldschmidt presented two programs: Differing Perspectives Into Ozone Depletion And Global Warming and Change And Communication—Essentials of Leadership at the La Crosse Chapter monthly meeting. Region IX Kansas City Chapter sponsored student night—a joint meeting with ASPE and tour of Sunset Office Building, the first LEED ® Gold Certified building in Johnson County. Region XI Saskatoon Chapter held a program on energy analysis, option or necessity presented by Distinguished Lecturer Julian de Bullet. Aspects of building design to see how changes affect the capital cost, energy usage and operating cost of the building were discussed.
