The Life Members Club executive board requests that members who do not pay dues or contribute to the club to step up and be counted. Since its inception, the Club has encouraged the recognition and support of educators who are exemplary in encouraging and teaching students in the HVAC&R fields. It has rewarded one educator each year with the E. K. Campbell award, which now carries a $3,000 stipend and a plaque. In addition, it has awarded annual stipends to two or more students pursuing HVAC&R studies. The Club has encouraged members to voluntarily contribute to these worthwhile projects, which are the Club’s major activities. Recent IRS rulings have made it easier to contribute to tax-exempt organizations. Only about 400 Life Members make voluntary contributions each year. Member contributions are the only financial resource for the Club’s use. Because of the Club’s adjunct status, it does not receive any additional funds from ASHRAE. Think of how much more the Club could accomplish on ASHRAE’s behalf if only a reasonable number of the rest of the 3,500 Life Members would contribute. We know that all of the Life Members have benefited from ASHRAE membership over the years. We encourage every Club member to put something back. | |
