ASHRAE’s digital documents have built-in copyright protection with some restrictions on how you can use them. After your purchase, you will receive an email within a few minutes explaining the download process. The same ASHRAE account used for the purchase must be used for downloading and opening the document. For more details, please see below: Document Features: - Each document is a PDF that can be installed on up to two separate computers at the same time.
- All digital purchases will be kept in an online archive that you can access for download at any time from any location.
- Digital documents use a plug-in called "FileOpen" that can be obtained when you download the PDF.
- Digital documents can be printed, but cannot be edited or copied.
- Digital documents can be used on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista; Mac OS X workstation; and Linux operating systems.
- Digital documents can only be opened using Adobe Reader or Professional.
- Digital documents cannot be shared on a network, or distributed to more than two people.
Purchase and Download Process: - Log on to www.ashrae.org using an ashrae account.
- Find the document in the bookstore and be sure you purchase the PDF version.
- Complete the purchase at the shopping cart.
- Within a few minutes, you will receive an email at your ashrae account email address with download directions.
- Download to your local computer, following directions in the email. We recommend you use Internet Explorer.
- You will need a plug-in for Adobe Reader, obtained from the same web site, before you can open the document.
Installation: - After you have downloaded the PDF and installed the plug-in, open the PDF.
- Enter your ashrae account information in the pop-up box.
- Your document will open.
- Next time you open your document, you will not need to enter any information.
