Overview/Purpose

In the HVAC&R industry, economizers are used to reduce heating and cooling costs. The ASHRAE Scholarship Program also serves as an economizer, helping reduce the financial burdens of obtaining your engineering education. Without the future leaders of the HVAC&R industry, we at ASHRAE wouldn’t be able to do what we do. So, through the Society’s scholarship program, we’re here to help you do what you do – learn.

johnweiland“The ASHRAE scholarship that I received as a student greatly helped me finance my engineering education, which has been the foundation of my career. After graduating, I've been actively involved with my local chapter of ASHRAE. The experience has been instrumental in advancing my career. ASHRAE offers multiple avenues of resources, continuing education, and training to allow myself to be a better engineer. More importantly, through my involvement with ASHRAE I've been able to network with various professionals throughout the HVAC industry.”

- John Weiland, ASHRAE Reuben Trane Scholarship Recipient 2001-2002, 2000-2001

samsnyderBeing a recipient of an ASHRAE scholarship was a great blessing. The support I received by ASHRAE as a student enabled me to directly focus on and achieve my primary educational goals in engineering and architecture. I am now able to apply all I have learned in furthering responsible and sustainable design in the built environment. I continue to be impacted by and involved with ASHRAE as a professional and look forward to many years of service in the HVAC&R industry. I offer my sincere thanks to those who helped make all of the ASHRAE scholarships a reality.

Timothy Cross Scholarship Recipient"I feel that ASHRAE's investment and support in my education was a very big contribution to me being able to do so well and succeed in this trade. I wanted to thank ASHRAE for their support and their commitment to myself and the HVAC trade. Again Thank you"

- Timothy Cross, Black Hawk College - ASHRAE Associate Engineering Technology Scholarship Recipient 2007-2008

Jeremy2“ASHRAE has positively influenced my academic experience in college, both as an undergraduate and graduate student with the support of scholarships and a grant. The financial support of ASHRAE allowed me to focus on academics and leadership opportunities in student organizations in place of working long hours outside of class to pay for my education.  Without the contributions of ASHRAE, I may have struggled to earn a strong education which is preparing me for a bright future in the HVAC&R industry!”

- Jeremy B. Dreiling, Frank M. Coda Scholarship Recipient 2006-2007, Kansas City ASHRAE Chapter Scholarship
