Assistant Manager of Standards-Codes

Are you looking to get involved in the development of building codes and standards for HVAC&R?  Do you enjoy working with volunteers?  Are you outgoing and diplomatic? ASHRAE seeks an Assistant Manager of Standards-Codes with a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or similar technical degree with at least 5 years experience.  Experience in the development or application of consensus standards or codes and editing technical documents is a plus.  Individuals with experience or knowledge in the development of consensus based standards and codes are desired.  Effective communication skills, good judgment and diplomacy are essential as this position interacts with outside committees and organizations.  This position requires domestic travel approximately three to four times per year.

Graphic Designer

ASHRAE, an international nonprofit engineering society, has an immediate opening for a Graphic Designer. The ideal candidate must have the ability to conceptualize and implement designs that can be used in both print and online media. We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude that has the ability to multi-task and work with various departments throughout the organization.  Must be creative in nature and have the ability to “think outside of the box” and execute/design.

Additionally, this person must have:

  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud / Suite software, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Experience with Dreamweaver helpful for creating online deliverables. 
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS and of HTML newsletter / e-mail
  • Ability to produce both print and online designs for seamless branding of cross-media promotions

 

A college degree is required, prefer 5 years professional work experience (samples may be requested)

Marketing Assistant

ASHRAE, an international nonprofit engineering society, has an immediate opening for a Marketing Assistant to serve as support for our Marketing Department including administrative tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate must have the ability to:

  • Coordinate comprehensive marketing project requests from all committees and internal departments for prioritization
  • Assist in preparation of marketing and  promotional materials as requested
  • Attend ASHRAE Annual and Winter Conferences and assist with on-site activities as needed
  • Assist in the day-to-day administrative requests as needed
  • Assist other sections in the marketing department with their marketing efforts, as work load allows

 

The Job Specifications for this position are:

  • College degree required. Concentration in marketing, communications.
  • Minimum of three (3) years marketing experience is required.
  • Full proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite to manage programs required.
  • Familiarity with social media, including Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Acute attention to detail and an ability to coordinate many tasks at once required.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – enabling the position to interact with both volunteers and staff to achieve objectives required.

Assistant Marketing Manager

ASHRAE, an international nonprofit engineering society, has an immediate opening for an Assistant Marketing Manager in our Marketing Department. The ideal candidate must have the ability to:

  • Proactively produce outgoing communications for time sensitive material to promote the association and its objectives
  • Assist with on-site coverage and logistical details for tradeshows throughout the year. Travel as needed for up to 4-5 shows.
  • Work with all various departments for tactical execution of email campaigns which could include working with ad agencies and outside vendors
  • Be available to review outgoing communication as needed for proofing
  • Work with IT as needed to ensure list accuracy for marketing efforts
  • Attend internal and external meetings as assigned
  • Assist with committees / liaison as requested
  • Have excellent writing and communication skills and be able to write press releases, copy for marketing materials and other written materials as needed.
  • Management experience is a plus

 

Job Specifications:

3-5 years minimum marketing experience. Must have a college Marketing degree. Must have attention to detail and be professional. Must be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office products. Must be organized and able to work with a variety of departments. Positive attitude is a must.

E-Mail Marketing Manager

ASHRAE, an international nonprofit engineering society, has an immediate opening for an E-Mail Marketing Manager in our Marketing Department. The ideal candidate must have the ability to:

  • Identify and work with various e-mail marketing vendors to source a best fit for the association and be responsible for implementation across all departments
  • Familiarity with best practices in an association environment and tools used in tracking online metrics, especially in terms of e-mail marketing
  • Coordinate with a cross-departmental team of staff to collect and synthesize content to feature in e-mails.
  • Format e-mails using ASHRAE brand/style guidelines and existing templates
  • Select and edit appropriate photos and graphics.
  • Work with staff to leverage database and create timelines for messages/campaigns
  • Review campaign metrics and provide internal staff with performance analysis.
  • Keep abreast of trends and best practices in e-mail marketing to make campaigns more effective and efficient.
  • Knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, Excel, all pluses
  • Ability to create, interpret and explain analytical reports generated from campaigns to determine successfulness of campaigns and to make decisions based on those analytics.
  • Work with Electronics Communications team to review weekly list of outgoing communications and work with Director to streamline efforts and create efficiencies

Program Director of Government Affairs

This position reports to the Executive Vice President

ASHRAE has an immediate opening for the top position in our Washington, DC office.  The position title is Program Director of Government Affairs.  Responsibilities include: Government Relations, Outreach, Issues Management, Committee support, & managing the DC office and its' staff.  This position coordinates public policy positions with other organizations, evaluates legislation, and facilitates meetings between Society leaders and government officials. Minimum requirements include: a Bachelors degree and five years working in a Capitol Hill office.  Successful candidates must have experience in management and developing and implementing legislative agendas.

IAQA – Standards Administrator

ASHRAE seeks a Standards Administrator with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.  This position will oversee and manage the development of standards and guidelines developed jointly by ASHRAE and the Indoor Air Quality Association.  (IAQA).  Experience in the development or application of consensus standards or codes and editing technical documents is preferred.  Effective communication skills, good judgment and diplomacy are essential.  This position requires travel approximately two times a year.
