The Grove

Enjoy catching up with old friends and making new ones over views of the Discovery Green Park at The Grove. The 2018 ASHRAE Annual Conference Welcome Party will take place at The Grove restaurant on Saturday, June 23 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Grove is conveniently located right across the street from the Hilton Americas (HQ hotel) at 1611 Lamar St. on two stories of The Grove. Food will be stationed throughout the restaurant and on both the first and second floor of The Grove. Two drink tickets are included in your Welcome Party purchase and additional drink tickets may be purchased onsite from ASHRAE staff.

Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Hospitality Suite

Young professional members age 35 and younger are invited to visit the YEA Hospitality Suite. The suite offers social and networking opportunities, and light refreshments are served.

Meet and Greet

Monday, June 25 | 9:30 – 11 a.m.
Ballroom of the Americas C, 2nd Floor, Hilton

Join father and son duo, Phillip and Damon Pampolina, for an exciting lesson of one of Texas’s most famous dances, line dancing!

Line dancing first started in the USA, sometime in the late 1970s to early 1980s. Early line dances were performed to disco music, country and western. Although many popular line dances were set to country music it is believed to have originated from folk music.

Phillip and Damon will teach classic western as well as modern line dancing featuring today’s favorite line dancing tunes.

You will not want to miss this experience while in Texas!

Light refreshments will be served.

Presidents Lunch

2018-19 ASHRAE President Sheila Hayter, presents her presidential theme. Certificates of appreciation to retiring Board members are presented, and the 2018-19 officers and Board of Directors installed.

Women in ASHRAE Happy Hour

Monday, June 25 | 4 – 6 p.m.

Join women from around the world to share ideas and learn how to be active at the chapter, region, and/or Society level. Current ASHRAE members will share insight and experiences. This event requires pre-registration. Tickets includes light appetizers and two drink tickets (beer and wine only). House of Blues Houston is a five minute walk from the Hilton. From the Hilton’s main entrance, head west on Dallas St. The House of Blues is four blocks away on the corner of Dallas and Caroline St., with the entrance on Caroline St.

Life Members Luncheon

Enjoy lunch, share ideas about the future of technology and swap memories of the Society while dining with Life Members. This member grade is for members who have completed 30 years of continuous membership and are at least 65 years of age.

Members' Night Out

Whodunit? You’ll have to come see for yourself! One of your fellow ASHRAE attendees may be responsible for the crime! Come join your friends and fellow attendees for a night full of mystery with an interactive and improvised comedic murder mystery set in the present day hosted by the Dinner Detective. The evening will start with a reception at 6:15 p.m. where attendees can enjoy a cocktail and conversation while they create their own “alias” for the evening including a new name badge. The evening will include a three course meal with parts of the show taking place in between each course and a short ASHRAE program at the beginning. Throughout the event, murders and mayhem will occur, hidden clues will come forth and detectives will help everyone try to solve the crime. In the end, we have a prize package for the attendee who comes closest to solving the crime. Come if you dare!
