Enjoy catching up with old friends and making new ones at the 2019 ASHRAE Annual Conference Welcome Party. The Welcome Party will take place at the National WWI Museum and Memorial on Saturday, June 22. The Museum and Memorial was “built by Kansas Citians and embraced by the nation” in 1921. The Museum and Memorial exhibits will be open for the duration of the Welcome Party. Food and drinks will be available in specified areas of the museum. Fun Run 5K
Monday, June 24
6:30 a.m.

This fun run is organized by members for members! Meet at the Barney Allis Plaza located across the street from all ASHRAE partner hotels for a casual run/walk with some of your closest ASHRAE friends before the Technical Program starts at 8:00 a.m. Multiple course distance options will be offered from 1 to 5 miles. All paces are welcome. The courses will be marked in chalk and/or flour and maps will be available the morning of the event


Meet and Greet

The Meet and Greet, open to all registered companions and guests, gives companions an opportunity to meet with old friends and greet new ones.

Join Bethanie Schemel from KC Barbecue Tours in a historic speakeasy setting for a presentation of Kansas City history and how the mob made barbecue such a staple in the Kansas City culture. Bethanie will also discuss the presidential history of Kansas City and specifically within the famous Muehlebach Hotel which is known today as the Kansas City Marriott Downtown East Tower.

Bethanie Schemel and her husband, Karl,  own and operate KC Double Decker Tours and KC Barbecue Tours. Bethanie started research on the history of Kansas City and specifically Kansas City Barbecue for the opening of KC Barbecue Tours  and KC Double Decker Tours a few years ago. in 2013. Bethanie knows the “who, what, where, why & when” and verbally paints a picture to tell the story of Kansas City and it’s barbecue roots.

Certificates of appreciation to retiring Board members are presented, and the 2019-20 officers and Board of Directors installed.


Women in ASHRAE Happy Hour

Join women from around the world to share ideas and learn how to be active at the chapter, region, and/or Society level. Current ASHRAE members will share insight and experiences. Ticket purchase includes two drink tickets and light appetizers. This event requires pre-registration.


Life Members' Luncheon

Cost: $35

Enjoy lunch, share ideas about the future of technology and swap memories of the Society while dining with Life Members. This member grade is for members who have completed 30 years of continuous membership and are at least 65 years of age.
