Renée Azerbegi, PE, CEM, LEED AP, WELL AP

President, Ambient Energy

Renée Azerbegi leads the Ambient Energy office and manages key projects that align with Ambient Energy’s vision for a regenerative and resilient built world. Renée combines her passion for environmental sustainability and energy conservation with strong technical leadership. Prior experience includes green building rating system facilitation, energy and renewable energy system analysis, and mechanical design. She focuses on aviation, municipal, state and transit projects. Renee believes that in order to reduce the impact of global warming on our planet, we have to create resilient buildings today that are net-zero energy, water and waste! She enjoys all that Colorado has to offer outdoors including jogging, backpacking and snowboarding.

David Kang

Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure and Sustainability and the Chief Facilitates Officer at the University of Colorado Boulder

David Kang is the Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure and Sustainability and the Chief Facilities Officer at the University of Colorado Boulder where he manages more than 12 million square feet of facilities to support education and research. He is also responsible for overall campus sustainability and resiliency; Real Estate; and Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. Prior to CU Boulder, David was the Director of Project Management at the White House Military Office where he led several multi-million dollar, highly technical, classified facility programs/projects in support of the Continuity of the Presidency, White House Operations, Camp David, and other White House support facilities. He also served as the Director for Shore Energy for the Department of the Navy where he championed a culture of sustainability and led department-wide efforts to increase energy efficiency, increase use of renewable energy and integrate smart energy technologies on Naval installations throughout the world.

Rajan Rawal

Rajan Rawal is a Professor at CEPT University and Executive Director of “Centre for Advanced Studies in Building Science and Energy” (CARBSE ) at CEPT Research and Development Foundation. He teaches energy efficient built habitat, energy modeling, energy policy at postgraduate level. His work emphasis is on ‘energy performance of human habitat’ and ‘architectural science education’.

Prof Rawal led Indo-US Joint Clean Energy R & D Centre - Building Energy Efficiency Sector, and presently leading one of the projects under Indo-UK project on Energy Demand Reduction and Mission Innovation challenge on heating and cooling in buildings from India side. He serves on organizing council of Global Cooling Prize . He is an active member of International Energy Agency EBC Annex 69, 79 and 80 and Chair Education at International Building Performance Association (IBPSA ). He serves on various executive committees and technical committee at the national and international level. He is part of the editorial board of three leading journals and has several research papers, book chapters, and projects to his credit.
