Overview:

A key part of design is choosing the location of your building. A lot of effort went into choosing where our building will sit in relation to the land that was available as well as its surroundings. After coordinating with our consulting architect, we found a location that was not too far from Coors Field and had a heavy flow of pedestrian traffic, ensuring that our building would be seen. A great view of the adjacent park and river that flowed through the area were key assets in choosing this location. After careful evaluation of the lot, the building geometry conformed to the land in such a way that it would not conflict with the surrounding areas. Research into recent developments in the energy field as well as identifying the most up-to-date and current applications available in today’s market provided the basis for our building’s design concept as well as several key factors of the WELL Building Standard. The building was modeled using various software platforms that enabled us to integrate a variety of key energy applications such as solar panels, a solar thermal panel system for domestic water, electro-chromic windows, solar light wells, a thermal labyrinth, energy recovery units and a daylight harvesting system.
