Daniel Koenigshofer, P.E., MSPH, HFDP

Daniel Koenigshofer, P.E., MSPH, HFDP is the Vice President for Health Care at Dewberry Engineers, Inc. He has over 30 years of engineering and project management experience specializing in master planning, designing and solving HVAC problems in health care facilities. Some of Dan's recent projects include a 180,000 ft2 heart and vascular center with 4 hybrid operating rooms, 4 Cath Labs, 2 EP, ICU, and telemetry; a 175,000 ft2 patient tower including a children's center; three central energy plants with capacities ranging to 9,000-tons, 15,000 kW and 45,000 PPPH steam. Dan has presented numerous sessions on healthcare design, both nationally and internationally, at seminars sponsored by the NC Department of Energy, NC Hospital Energy Association, Corps of Engineers, ASHE, and ASHRAE. He has written dozens of articles published in national magazines. In 2007, Dan became the first ASHRAE/ASHE Certified Health Care Facility Design Professional (HFDP) in the Southeast USA. He is editor-in-chief and major author of the 2013 ASHRAE book: HVAC Design Manual for Hospitals and Clinics. He is a Senior member of ASHE and a member of the ASHE Advisory Committee on Commissioning.
