Henry Healey, P.E.

Henry M. Healey, P.E. is a Professional Engineer and Educator with extensive experience in the design and construction of solar energy projects for commercial, industrial, and governmental facilities. He presently provides support for the Solar Industry in developing in solar design, training, and addressing the structural requirements related to the installation of solar applications. He has assisted Manufactures of solar equipment in the structural testing (Uniform Pressure Testing) and certification of solar thermal and electric collectors for that details the construction details required for permitting in accordance with Code requirements. Mr. Healey has extensive experience with returning poorly performing to service and developing Operation & Maintenance Manuals and training of facility personnel to help ensure the longevity of solar projects.

Mr. Healey has been actively involved in solar applications since the-mid 70's and recently commissioned solar projects at NASA (KSC), DOS and NPS. He serves as a consultant and trainer for ASHRAE, the Florida Solar Energy Center and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Mr. Healey has designed more than 100 solar water heating and photovoltaic projects for Federal, Commercial and Industrial (C&I) facilities. He routinely provides facility owners, managers and the solar community, assistance in the development, design, acquisition, construction, and installation of renewable/solar energy systems including Solar Thermal, Photovoltaic, and Geothermal for the Commercial and Industrial sector. He has developed low cost designs for process heating and diagnosed problems with, corrected and returned service to poorly performing or inoperative solar systems cost effectively. He specializes in the design of cost effective systems for commercial and industrial applications, and has developed training manuals, operation and maintenance, for architects, engineers, installers, facility managers and maintenance staff.

Mr. Healey has demonstrated the ability to develop, review, evaluate and implement major energy projects education and training programs. Mr. Healey has provided solar designs, evaluations, training and technical assistance to organizations such as the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Tennessee Valley Authority, NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy, the United Nations and numerous professional, commercial and industrial concerns. Mr. Healey developed operation and maintenance manuals and has provides training for organizations including AEE, ASHRAE, FSEC, NREL, and the UN for architects, engineers, facility managers, contractors and the general public. He is the author of numerous publications in the solar energy field.
