William Pearson, CWT

William E. (Bill) Pearson II is Senior V.P. Business Development for Special Pathogens Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA. He is a Certified Water Technologist (CWT) and has 40+ years of experience in the water treatment industry.

Bill has been active in many water treatment technical trade associations and currently serves as liaison for the Association of Water Technologies (AWT) to ASHRAE and to the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI). He is a past-chair of the Water Treatment Technical Committee at ASHRAE and AWT. He was a voting member and organizational representative for AWT on the ASHRAE SPC for the development of Standard 188 (Legionella).
Bill served on the AWT Board of Directors, was President of AWT in 2003, and received the Ray Baum Memorial Water Technologist of the Year Award in 2005.

He is a biology/biochemistry graduate of East Carolina University and a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE International). He resides in Wilmington, North Carolina..
