FBPTA-Aligned

The Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP), Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), and Operations & Performance Management Professional (OPMP) certifications and the Fundamentals of Building Operation, Maintenance and Management course have been reviewed by the Facility Management Institute of the U.S. General Services Administration and are now considered FBPTA-Aligned.  The process included reviewing learning objectives, skills taught, and material covered.

“Recognition of these ASHRAE qualifications as ‘FBPTA aligned’ not only is confirmation that ASHRAE certifications and courses are relevant and meet industry need, but it also will be a boon to federal employees charting their professional development,” says Cameron Labunski, P.E., CPMP, HBDP, HFDP, ASHRAE Professional Development Committee Chair and incoming Certification Vice Chair.

These qualifications have been included in the 2015 Core Competencies and Recommended Curriculum and added to the Accelerate FM tool, designed to help Federal Buildings Personnel manage professional development.
