Course Length: 1 hour

ASHRAE/ICC/USGBC/IES Standard 189.1-2017, Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings, now serves as the technical basis for the 2018 International Green Construction Code (IgCC). The IgCC provides the minimum requirements for the siting, design, construction, and plans for operations of a high-performance green building. The basic intent behind the IgCC was to provide a balance of factors involved with the design and operation of buildings. This session provides a brief overview of the technical content contained in the IgCC/ASHRAE/ICC/USGBC/IES Standard 189.1, with a focus on topics most relevant to the typical ASHRAE member.
