Discover how ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) can be used in conjunction with HVAC systems to improve indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and reduce airborne disease transmission with this comprehensive course. Starting with the history of UVGI from the 19th Century to the present day, the course examines the germicidal action of UVGI and the characteristics of UVGI sources. The most common system types and applications, as well as the economics of UVGI, are explored. The course also explores practical considerations like material degradation, maintenance, and safety. To help understand how UVGI can be applied in real-world situations, case studies are included throughout the course.
