Robert Cox, P.E.

    Biography

    Robert Cox is a registered Professional Engineer with over 27 years of consulting engineering experience primarily focused on engineering for institutional and governmental clients including health care facilities, colleges and universities, and state, local and federal government clients. He has particular experience in energy conservative design for facilities and facilities Commissioning. He is a Senior Project Manager with Carter Burgess. Mr. Cox has been active in ASHRAE since 1977 holding a variety of local and regional offices. He is currently the Chair of TC 9.8, “Large Building Applications”, the research chair of TC 9.6 “Healthcare Facilities”, and Program Chair of TC 9.7 “Educational Facilities. He was an active member of SP-91, the committee that wrote the “HVAC Design Manual for Hospitals and Clinics” and was a primary author for several chapters. Mr. Cox has published several papers for ASHRAE and other groups and has given many seminar presentations at ASHRAE meetings. He recently published a paper at the ASHRAE/ASHE IAQ meeting called “Can Health Care Ventilation Standards be Maintained without Breaking the Operating Budget?”
