ASHRAE predecessor societies: ASHVE, the American
Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers; ASRE, The American Society of
Refrigerating Engineers; ASHAE, the American Society of Heating and
90; Fellow Life Member; Santa Monica, Calif., 90405; joined
ASHVE in 1946. He served on numerous technical committees, including those
related to seismic and wind restraint design, enclosed vehicular facilities,
thermal storage, radiant space heating and cooling and energy calculations. He
also served on the Standard 90-75 Committee, panel 10, and as chair of a task
group on energy requirements estimating. Ayres received a Distinguished 50-Year
Member Award in 1996 and a Distinguished Service Award in 1993.

formerly chaired TC 10.5, Refrigerated Distribution and Storage Facilities, and
also served on TC 8.7, Variable Refrigerant Flow, 10.1, Custom Engineered
