ASHRAE Virtual Conference Kicks Off On-Demand Technical Program

ATLANTA (June 22, 2020) – The 2020 ASHRAE Virtual Conference officially debuts its on-demand technical program June 22. Register to gain access to the on-demand program now and the live virtual event starting on June 29 at ashrae.org/2020virtual.

Virtual Conference registrants will receive on-demand access to 80+ technical sessions for 18 months, earn PDH credits and interact virtually with speakers and other conference attendees. 

“We’re excited to kick off the on-demand portion of our virtual conference,” said 2019-20 ASHRAE President Darryl K. Boyce, P.Eng. “Our conference sessions will provide essential resources to support building professionals and steering the industry forward as we find new ways to address the challenges we face in the built environment.”

The on-demand program will allow registrants to:

  • View the pre-recorded presentations and sort the sessions by track and program type. 
  • Virtually interact with speakers by posting questions in the online forum and see the speaker’s answers.
  • Download a podcast of the presentation, a PDF of the slides from the presentation and all of the papers presented in the technical program.
  • Connect with the speakers in a live video chat session, scheduled June 29 – July 2, each session is 20-minutes in length.

The technical program is organized around the following tracks:

  • Fundamentals and Applications
  • HVAC&R Systems and Equipment
  • Research Summit
  • Professional Development
  • Grid-Interactive Efficient Built Environment
  • Multifamily and Residential Buildings
  • Zero Energy Buildings and Communities
  • Resilient Buildings and Communities

During the week of June 29-July 2, 12 live technical sessions will be presented. Topics will include the latest information relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Updates from Society leaders, live chats with speakers from the on-demand sessions and virtual networking happy hours will be take place each day through July 2.

“This conference will feature timely, in-depth content from more than 300 presenters and subject matter experts,” said Bing Liu, conference chair. “Several sessions will highlight how buildings respond to climate change challenges and pertinent topics related to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The cost to attend the virtual conference is $99 for ASHRAE members ($329 for non-members, which includes an annual ASHRAE membership). Company packages are also available.

ASHRAE’s technical program will be accepted for many jurisdictions' continuing education requirements and most sessions are approved for LEED AP credits and AIA learning units.
