MAKE A GIFT

Phone or Check

Many charitable gifts are made in the form of cash and checks. When you itemize your tax deductions, gifts of cash may be used to eliminate federal income tax on up to half of your adjusted gross income. You may enjoy state income tax savings as well.

The fastest way to give to ASHRAE is to make a gift using our secure online giving form. Or you may call us at 404-636-8400 or 800-527-4723.

Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

You can also mail a check made out to ASHRAE. Please include a note telling us how to direct your gift and send to:

Office of Development

1791 Tullie Circle
Atlanta, GA 30329
For assistance, please call 678-539-1201

Electronic Funds Transfer

ASHRAE accepts electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments. Please download a copy of our electronic funds transfer form.

Please return the completed form with a voided check (not a deposit slip) or voided savings deposit slip for bank verification to:

Office of Development

Stocks and Securities Transfer

Giving securities (stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares) that are worth more than they originally cost can bring additional tax savings. Such gifts are generally deductible from income tax at their full current value if they have been owned for longer than one year, and they can be used to offset tax on up to 30% of your adjusted gross income.

Planned Gifts

About Planned Giving
Planned gifts, such as bequests or charitable trusts, can be an advantageous way to provide for a future gift to charity. You can take care of yourself and take care of ASHRAE.

What is "Planned Giving?"
Planned giving involves providing for a future gift to charities through your financial and estate plans. ASHRAE welcomes gifts made through different planned giving arrangements.

These arrangements can:

  • Provide for you or your loved ones
  • Entitle you to charitable income and/or gift or estate tax deductions
  • Enable you to leave a legacy for ASHRAE

You can explore different types of planned gifts to assist you in reaching your financial and philanthropic goals.

Heritage Society
If you have decided to include ASHRAE in your estate plans, we would like to show you our appreciation by including you as a member of ASHRAE's honorary society, the Heritage Society.

The Heritage Society was established as a means to recognize those individuals who have included ASHRAE in their estate plan via a bequest, charitable remainder trust, charitable gift annuity or other form of planned gift. A planned gift is often the most effective opportunity to ensure a legacy with ASHRAE. They also provide substantial Federal tax deductions, and certain vehicles can provide a lifetime income to you and your loved ones.

If you are curious about the various estate planning options available through ASHRAE Foundation, please call Margaret Smith at 678-539-1201 or email us at foundation@ashrae.org for more information.
