Celebrating Innovation—Together

Scene from the 2020 AHR Expo in Orlando
Thousands of industry professionals explored countless products at the 2022 AHR Expo in Orlando, Fla.

It’s been almost two years since the HVAC&R industry has gathered to explore and admire the industry’s latest innovations.

At this year’s Show, 1,618 exhibitors are expected to spread out across about 456,904 ft2 (42,447 m2) at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Air-conditioning units, building materials and more will fill out that floor space as engineers, contractors and facility operators flock to the Show in search of products that can help them find solutions to the latest industry challenges.

As the industry gathers together again, Show management is requiring that all attendees wear masks indoors and practice social distancing. Find out more information about AHR Expo’s health and safety information.

While the size of the Show can be daunting, there is a tool that ensures you see what you want to see at the world’s largest HVAC&R marketplace. Download the free 2022 AHR Expo app—available on the mobile App Store and Google Play.

If you’re not using a smart phone or prefer paper, a paper floor plan and a Show directory are available and contain information on product categories and booth numbers.

Trends Report: Looking Ahead to 2022

WESTPORT, Conn.— The HVAC&R industry is kicking off its new year with the return of the AHR Expo. Scheduled for Jan. 31–Feb. 2 in Las Vegas, the 2022 Show marks the industry’s first major in-person event since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Times have changed since the last AHR Expo in Orlando, Fla., in February 2020. The importance of the HVAC&R industry is now common knowledge. “A greater importance has been placed on indoor air quality and the ongoing need to create more healthy indoor environments that extend beyond the current COVID-19 pandemic,” said 2021 – 22 ASHRAE President Mick Schwedler, P.E., Fellow ASHRAE, in AHR Expo’s 2022 Trend Report. “This means that our members have an even greater role to play in terms of guiding all industry sectors in creating and maintaining healthy indoor environmental quality,” he continued.

Ahead of the 2022 Show, AHR Expo released the trend report that serves as an industry snapshot of potential opportunities, challenges and threats the industry could face in the coming year. Common themes include the transition to low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants, the focus on IAQ and the need to support and grow a diverse workforce. In the trend report, Schwedler said the Society’s technical focus is taking a newer direction by focusing on indoor environmental quality (IEQ), resilience and decarbonization.
