    Biography

    Hwakong Cheng, P.E., Member ASHRAE is a Principal at Taylor Engineers, where he has been responsible for HVAC design, commissioning, and energy analysis for over 15 years. He has applied his expertise in energy efficiency and indoor air quality to develop practical HVAC and control system solutions for new construction and for existing buildings. Mr. Cheng led a recently-completed study funded by the California Energy Commission to demonstrate cost-effective control system upgrades based on ASHRAE Guideline 36 in commercial buildings. In addition to his work as a consulting engineer, Mr. Cheng is actively involved in applied research in controls-related topics and supporting industry outreach through teaching, publications, and codes and standards. He is a corresponding member of SGPC-36 and a licensed mechanical engineer in California and Washington.
