Course Length: 1 hour

This promotional course touches upon the basics of variable-refrigerant flow (VRF) technology, VRF system types, and their potential benefits. It briefly introduces new definitions, and provisions and criteria to safely design VRF system with A2L refrigerants with some quick references taken from relevant ASHRAE codes and standards, and supplements the fundamental of VRF technology information (Chapter 18) included in 2024 ASHRAE Handbook—HVAC Systems and Equipment. This course serves as a precursor to the 3-hour VRF course which dives deeper into key design and application aspects including scenario based examples and calculations, important tools, manufacturer-specific info cases, real-life projects reference in a variety of occupancy types and much more.
