ASHRAE's Global Headquarters

The new, renovated facility will become a showcase for the latest HVAC&R equipment and technology, providing a destination venue for industry visitors and members to experience state-of-the-art technology installed and "in action" in a built environment.

The retrofitted new headquarters building will represent the sustainability values which ASHRAE has long held, and will have a zero carbon footprint.

ASHRAE's current headquarters building, located at 1791 Tullie Circle, NE will become part of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's expanded state-of-the-art medical campus. The Society's headquarters will relocate in October 2020 to 180 Technology Parkway, Peachtree Corners, GA.

ASHRAE's Global Headquarters:
Transforming ASHRAE

The goal of the renovation is to demonstrate a replicable process for retrofitting an existing mid-century building to achieve low EUI levels and net-zero energy performance while providing an exceptional workplace for the well-being of our staff and volunteers.

“We want this space to inspire visitors to participate and honor them for their volunteer service and commitment.”
– Jeff Littleton

Owner's Project Information

ASHRAE is building its next global headquarters, providing members of the Atlanta and greater southeast building community with the opportunity to participate in one of the industry's most closely-watched and highly publicized projects!

ASHRAE has acquired an existing 66,700 ft2 building, originally built in 1978, on 11 acres in the Technology Park area of Peachtree Corners, GA. The Society has begun the process to renovate the building to Zero Energy standards. Although new construction of Zero Energy buildings make a lot of headlines, reuse of existing structures is a basic tenet of sustainability – the energy performance of existing buildings must be addressed to substantially impact the 40% of primary energy consumed by buildings.

As a demonstration project, the renovation decisions and process will be documented in great detail and made available to the industry with total transparency. The project will be the subject of multiple articles and presentations, and the promotional benefits of being associated with the renovation project will be substantial.

The renovation project budget is approximately $10 million.
