CPMP Recertification as a BCxP
To ensure the continued validity and relevance of its Commissioning certification scheme, beginning with the 2017 class of renewals, ASHRAE’s CPMP program will validate continuing competency against scheme requirements for the Building Commissioning Professional set forth in the Better Buildings Workforce Guidelines. CPMPs who renew against these scheme requirements will earn the Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP) designation.
For CPMPs, the benefits of recertifying as a BCxP versus applying for the BCxP certification are a shorter exam and a lower application fee. Also, CPMPs with a 2019 renewal date who renew in 2018 will be able to recertify as a BCxP with a prorated number of PDHs and at a prorated application fee.
