First Group On Its Way To Earning New ASHRAE Credential In Dubai

From eSociety, November 2017

Thirty-four people are already on their way to be the first group to earn a new credential from the ASHRAE Global Training Center—Dubai.

As part of the Center’s mission to provide region-specific information and curricula, ASHRAE members can now earn the Building Excellence Credential MENA (Middle East and Northern Africa) at the Center.

Twenty-two people were enrolled in a Middle East and Northern Africa-specific HVAC Design class in September. The Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems: Design & Applications class in mid-October saw an additional 12 people on their way to earning the Credential.

Those who earn the credential are trained in the correct application of ASHRAE Standards and new technologies through real-world experience and performance. The ASHRAE training is customized, scalable and accounts for climate, culture, suppliers, energy sources, prices, codes and construction practices for the MENA region.

The Credential requires individuals to earn at least 42 course credits within three years at the Center, a university degree or at least three years’ work experience and complete an exam. Technical applications include occupant comfort, health-care facilities and sustainable buildings.

For more information or for any questions regarding the Building Excellence Credential MENA please contact the Global Training Center—Dubai Coordinator Ayah Said.

The ASHRAE Building Excellence Credential MENA is not an ASHRAE certification.
