Data-Driven Approach for Zero Carbon-Ready Pathway at Outlet Mall

Covering an area of 341,151 ft2 (31 694 m2), the Citygate Outlets retrofit expanded Hong Kong’s largest outlet mall while prioritizing sustainability and the well-being of occupants. A retro-commissioning project was initiated in 2022 to identify operational improvements.
The facility uses a chiller plant to provide chilled water to both the mall and the adjacent hotel. Air-handling units (AHUs) deliver cooled air throughout the arcade, while primary air units ensure the fresh air supply to the mall and fan coil units are used for tenant areas.
To continually enhance energy efficiency and occupant well-being, a range of measures have been implemented. Additionally, a digital transformation of energy and operational data was launched in 2022 to facilitate a data-driven approach to enhance operational efficiency.
