Artificial intelligence (AI) policy: ASHRAE prohibits the entry of content from any ASHRAE publication or related ASHRAE intellectual property (IP) into any AI tool, including but not limited to ChatGPT. Additionally, creating derivative works of ASHRAE IP using AI is also prohibited without express written permission from ASHRAE.

ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, has two new interpretations.

Interpretation 90.1-2010-38 – January 13, 2019
Refers to the requirements presented in ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2010, Table 11.3.1.12, regarding miscellaneous loads, and Table 11.3.1.5, regarding building envelope.

Interpretation 90.1-2016-8– January 13, 2019
Refers to the requirements presented in ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2016, Section 9.2.2.3, regarding non-human light usage exemption for LPD count.
