The 2019 update of ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings is a major revision, containing more than 100 changes from the 2016 version. Together, Standard 90.1-2010. 90.1-2013. 90.1-2016 and 90.1-2019 produce over 37% energy savings from the 2004 version. The seminar has strong focus on 90.1-2019 requirements for key building technical systems including HVAC, building envelope, and lighting.
The U.S. Department of Energy has issued a ruling that establishes Standard 90.1-2019 as the commercial building reference standard for state building energy codes.
This seminar is highly interactive and includes example buildings plus several in-class exercises for the building envelope, for lighting, and for HVAC). These exercises are problems that participants can solve individually or in teams, either during the seminars or afterwards. Example building and in-class exercise files will be available for download from ASHRAE. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their laptops to the seminar. This seminar is targeted at design professionals, code officials and building owners. It is not intended for participants wanting in-depth modeling tips.
