Engineers Week (EWeek) was founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951. EWeek is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers. World Engineering Day is a joint venture between UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and WFEO (World Federation of Engineering Organizations) to highlight engineers’ achievements around the world and improve the public understanding of the importance of engineering and technology. Building Safety Month (May 2026)
Building Safety Month is an international campaign that takes place in May to raise awareness about building safety. This campaign reinforces the need for the adoption of modern, regularly-updated building codes, and helps individuals, families and businesses understand what it takes to create safe and sustainable structures. High Performance Buildings Week (2026 Date TBD, Likely in June 2026)
High Performance Building Week was created by a coalition comprised of approximately 200 organizations to inform policymakers of the impact high performance buildings have on communities. They support the development of innovative policies and legislation to improve resiliency, workforce development, energy and water efficiency.
