Student Program

The Student Program, part of the 2021 ASHRAE Virtual Winter Conference, will feature three sessions presented live for students around the globe to join starting on February 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. EST. Registration for Students is $60 and ASHRAE Student Members and Student Branch Advisors receive a discounted rate of $25. The following Student Program sessions are included in the registration rate as well as the full virtual program for the 2021 ASHRAE Virtual Winter Conference which includes over 40 live sessions and 80+ on-demand sessions with access until August 2022.

Each day the student activities committee will be hosting an online scavenger hunt.  The links below will become active for 24 hours starting at the times listed.  Follow the link and complete the questions.  Each complete quiz with correct answers will earn a draw for an ASHRAE Pocket guide (worth $68). Student Design Award Winners Recognized

The Student Design Project Competition and the Setty Family Foundation Applied Engineering Challenge recognize the next generation of engineers. The 2020 Student Design Project Competition focused on building a new 17,500 square foot document storage and archive center in Mumbai, India. The new facility’s purpose was to store rare documents, books, manuscripts, photos, and audio recordings in a manner that will ensure the preservation of historical items for future generations. First place winners for the following categories will be recognized:

  • HVAC System Selection – University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska
  • HVAC Design Calculations – Cairo University, Giza, Egypt
  • Integrated Sustainable Building Design – Loughborough University, Loughborough, England
  • 2020 Setty Family Foundation Applied Engineering Challenge - Bandung Institute of Technology, Wetonia, Bandung, Indonesia.

The video honoring Student Design Award Winners presented live in the main virtual theater at 11:30 a.m. EST.
