Artificial intelligence (AI) policy: ASHRAE prohibits the entry of content from any ASHRAE publication or related ASHRAE intellectual property (IP) into any AI tool, including but not limited to ChatGPT. Additionally, creating derivative works of ASHRAE IP using AI is also prohibited without express written permission from ASHRAE.

ASHRAE Guideline 16-2018, Selecting Outdoor, Return and Relief Dampers for Air-Side Economizer Systems, has been revised and includes updated references.

The guideline provides the basis for selecting and sizing control dampers (outdoor, return and relief) commonly found in constant-air-volume (CAV) and variable-air-volume (VAV) air-handling units (AHU) and systems with air-side economizers.
