Updated Rating Liquid Coolers Standard Adds Refrigeration Capacity Calculation Requirement

From eSociety, September 2019

ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 24-2019, Methods of Testing for Rating Liquid Coolers, prescribes methods of testing the thermal performance and liquid-side pressure drop of evaporators that operate at subcritical pressures of the evaporating refrigerant.

The 2019 revision updated references, added a requirement for uncertainty analysis and added a requirement to use liquid enthalpy for calculating total refrigerant capacity.

The standard includes access to an Excel workbook to assist with uncertainty calculations.
