Covid-19 and Building: Re-Occupation After Lockdown

Course Length: 2 hours

We will likely live with the highly infectious novel Coronavirus for years. Buildings, with their complex engineering systems, will need to be maintained and operated in ways that prevent wide-spread infections often from asymptomatic individuals. This 2-hour training draws upon guidance from an international team of indoor environment and building system experts assembled by ASHRAE. The course identifies the equipment and procedures that are essential in protecting occupant health, bringing attendees up to date on the environmental conditions that are recommended to prevent the spread of the disease. The course also covers the measures that building services engineers need to consider when buildings are reopened after a long shut down. Engineers now can update systems, recommend the maintenance should be immediately implemented, and to review ongoing maintenance procedures. This course outlines what engineers need to look for when taking on startup operations. The instructor will review resources that are available form ASHRAE and other organizations for additional guidance.
