Science and Technology for the Built Environment

Science & Technology for the Built EnvironmentHVAC&R Research has a new title—Science and Technology for the Built Environment. All manuscripts in process now will be published in the journal under its new name. This new name reflects its expanded scope, which includes papers in many areas of science and technology for the built environment. In addition to traditional areas of research in HVAC&R, the journal's papers now often cover topics such as smart buildings, thermal comfort, aircraft ventilation, and automotive climate technology. 

Each issue of ASHRAE's archival research journal, Science and Technology for the Built Environment (formerly HVAC&R Research), contains more than 150 pages in 8.5 by 11-inch format, with 8 issues published online and combined twice a year in print (June and December).

Using Taylor & Francis' early online-publication system, Accepted Manuscript Online (AMO), accepted articles are published online in unedited form within 14 days of acceptance, making new knowledge available to researchers in the shortest possible time.

Science and Technology for the Built Environment accepts for publication only works reporting on research that is original and of lasting value. This journal is published by Taylor & Francis Group on behalf of ASHRAE and included in the Web of Science® and Current Contents Connect® databases. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double blind, and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.

Science & Technology for the Built Environment is available online, as a printed volume published twice a year, and through "Open Select" offered by Taylor & Francis.
