How much does ASHRAE Handbook Online cost?
The cost to nonmembers is $315. For ASHRAE members, the price is $230. For ASHRAE Student Members, the price is $54. Click here to order.
Is it free to members?
First-year ASHRAE members receive a complimentary one-year subscription. After that, members have the option to choose the online format as part of their Handbook benefit each year.
How long is the subscription?
One year from the date of purchase.
How do I renew my subscription?
You may check your subscription length at any time by going to My Subscription under the My Handbook link. This will give you the number of days left on your subscription and the option of renewing your subscription for an additional 12 months.
If your subscription has expired, you will be prompted to renew your subscription.
What happens when someone places an order?
You will immediately receive an e-mail confirming your order.
Is this a secure transaction?

What will I receive?
Access to a Web-based version of the ASHRAE Handbook series.

How long will it be before I can use it?
You will have immediate access after credit card approval. You will also receive confirmation by email.
Can I change my password and login?
Yes. After you log into ASHRAE Handbook Online, you will see My Handbook in the upper right corner. Click on My Handbook, and then select My Account. You can update password, login, and all contact information here. If you are an ASHRAE member, the updated login password will change your access to all member areas of ASHRAE.org
How do I get technical support?

Can I print from the document?
Yes, you can print, copy and paste.
Can I use any browser?
Internet Explorer is recommended. Firefox also allows full browsing of the Handbook. Safari and Chrome have limited functionality, and are not recommended at this time.
I cannot seem to get to the ASHRAE Handbook Online Web address. Why?
- Check your Internet browser. Internet Explorer is the preferred browser for this online product.
- If unused for more than four hours, ASHRAE Handbook Online will time out. Log in again.
- If you have no website service to this product address or any other web address, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- If you experience a slow connection or slow display speed, close any unnecessarily open programs, or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
How will I know when the subscription has ended?
If your subscription has expired, you will be notified when you log in and offered an option to renew.
You can check your account status at My Account. Click on My Subscription to see how many days remain in your subscription.
If I choose to not renew my subscription, does anything need to be removed from my computer?
As a Web-based product, it requires no software installation on your system.
How do I make comments on technical content?
When you are logged into ASHRAE Handbook Online, you can send comments from any of the Handbook volumes. Clicking on the comment button in the upper right-hand corner will display an email window addressed automatically to the ASHRAE Handbook editor.
